Does READ work with English Language Learners?
Many READ students are English Language Learners (46% during the summer of 2008). Student data indicate that, by the end of the program, English Language Learners do almost as well as English Proficient students. Another advantage of READ’s one-to-one tutoring is that ELL students have a chance to practice their English in a safe and conversational setting.
