Does the City of Madison offer a budget billing program?
Yes – a budget billing program is available to those customers who live in homes that have electricity as their only heat source. Depending upon your billing cycle, the program begins each July or August. Billing amounts are calculated based on your past twelve months of usage and adjusted to reflect any anticipated rate increases. Your budget billing amount will be periodically reviewed to prevent a large over or underpayment from accumulating on your account. Changes may be necessary due to an increase or decrease in usage. Budget payments must be kept current to remain in the program. Call the Finance Office at (605) 256-7504 to enroll in the budget billing program.
