Does the early childhood outcome assessment at Part B 619 exit constitute a reevaluation?

0

A. The outcome assessment at Part B 619 exit is not considered a reevaluation by OSEP. However, if a reevaluation is already occurring, the assessment may be used for both purposes and then reevaluation requirements will apply. Evaluation is defined as the procedures used to determine whether a child has a disability and the nature and extent of the special education and related services that the child needs. Assessment of a child’s progress in federally funded programs as required by OSEP does not constitute an evaluation (or reevaluation).
