Does the IELRB use mediation to resolve unfair labor practice issues?
The IELRB staff has received broad mediation training, and, whenever possible, a mediation conference is held before a case proceeds to hearing. Informal resolution of disputes is encouraged during all phases of the investigation and hearing process, and IELRB staff work closely with the parties to exhaust every possibility of settlement.
