The moon has everything to do with the tides, It’s all about the gravitational pull between the moon the earth and the sun also believe it or not. When the moon is full the sun and moon combine to produce a strong gravitational pull resulting in spring tides [ comes in a lot higher and goes out a lot further ] and when the moon is less then the high and low tides over this period will be of less change [ neap tides ] I am a fisherman for a living and it is so important to understand these cycles as the activity and behaviour of our shallow water sea life is greatly affected by these cycles , an example of this is that i would not fish for velvet crab when the tides a re weak [ neap ] as they just do not feed at this time but you can guarantee that when the tides are building you can catch these little suckers by the barrel load ! It’s pretty amazing really just how in tune everything is in nature !
