The proposal is consistent with all of the Green Flag benchmarks: • A welcoming place – how to create a sense that people are positively welcomed in the park. The scheme will create new accesses into the Park to attract and welcome visitors, with new paths running through the Park, and a stimulating environment. • Healthy, safe & secure – how best to ensure that the park is a safe & healthy environment for all users. The project will be managed to ensure that it is healthy, safe and secure. Increased levels of visitation will provide a safer environment. Experience shows that parks become dangerous when they are underused. • Clean & well maintained – what people can expect in terms of cleanliness, facilities & maintenance.
