Does the Stylus C80 use true black or composite black?

Both, The Stylus C80 has both black and color pigment inks. When printing on plain or matte papers the Stylus C80 uses both black and color inks. When printing on glossy media such as Premium Glossy Photo Paper or Premium Semi-Gloss Photo paper the Stylus C80 produces black by combining cyan, magenta and yellow inks. The black DuraBrite ink is designed to produce high quality black on plain (non coated) papers and does not contain the resin encapsulation featured on the color DuraBrite inks. The resin used in the color ink is designed to bond to the resin coating on the glossy papers. Since the resin is not used in the black ink it is not used on glossy media. When printing in a DOS environment only true black is used.
