That being said, you need to know if these fees apply to you and whether or not you can get around them. The first bag that you check will be assessed a fee of $15. If you need to check one additional bag it will come with a fee of $25. Bags three through nine will be assessed a fee of $100 each. This policy applies on all flights to and from Latin America, Canada, and the Caribbean as well as flights within the United States. Passengers traveling to and from Asia or Europe are exempt from these fees. Bags that weigh 50 pounds or less will be charged at the rates detailed above. Those between 51 and 70 pounds are assessed a first bag fee of $65, a second bag fee of $75, and a third through ninth bag fee of $150.
