Yes. Westar purchases any excess energy (kWh’s) that your system feeds back through the meter into Westar’s grid. This transaction is based on our Parallel Generation Rider (PGR) tariff. PGR Tariff – Northern Communities (List of Northern Communities) PGR Tariff – Southern Communities (List of Southern Communities) What price does Westar pay for excess energy that my system feeds back into the grid? Per the PGR tariff, Westar will pay 150% of its monthly average energy costs. Historical Energy Costs – North Historical Energy Costs – South The monthly average fuel cost is Westar’s total monthly energy mix (nuclear, coal, gas, oil, wind, purchased power, etc.) Any energy (kWh’s) fed back into Westar’s system from self-generation is power that Westar does not have to produce.
