Don the W2 income statement and the final paycheck stub show the same information?
No, the W2 income statement is not a substitute for the final paycheck stub. We find that the paycheck stub often contains information not found on the W2 such as untaxed income, value of benefits, cost of health insurance premiums, etc. We need both documents. Since all untaxed income such as subsidized housing, or contributions to 401k, 403b, TSA or other tax-deferred pension or savings investment plans must be verified for our own and for federal aid purposes, the details on the final paycheck stub may prove sufficient. (Remember, all untaxed income must be reported on your PROFILE and FAFSA form).
