Every time I open iGuidance from desktop, the software asks for “Baud rate” and COM port setting even though Im not connected to a GPS receiver. Why is that and what should I do?

The software is designed so every time it’s opened it’ll try to detect a GPS receiver (thus asking you for “baud rate” and “COM port”. You can either use the “auto detect” feature or manually select the COM port setting by going to your “Device Manager” to determine which COM port the GPS receiver has been installed under and simply choose the lowest baud rate (the rate at which the receiver will send info to your desktop). If you are just trying to use iGuidance on your laptop for pre-trip map planning purpose (so gps receiver isn’t necessary), then just click “ok” to bypass the message window, and you may proceed accordingly.
