Wind Controllers are used for numerous reasons: • A wind controller can be used for alternative sounds that a musician cannot produce on their native acoustic instruments. For example, a sax player can use a wind controller to double on clarinet, trumpet, guitar, or bass. • An investment in a wind controller can easily pay for itself by allowing a musician to provide more alternatives to prospective employers. The musician can provide more musical alternatives on the job. • Transposition is a button push away. • Some musicians find a wind controller to be easier to play- i.e. no embouchure needs to be maintained to produce a professional quality tone. • Some people find that they simply do not have the time to maintain their “chops” on an acoustic instrument and a wind controller is more in tune with their lifestyle. • Complete volume control is a simple twist of a knob. This means that horn players can play in small venues (i.e. quiet restaurants) without having to change their playin
