From the new Library plans I can see vertical segments rising out of the building, what are they? Also how close to C3B is the adjacent library wall?
The vertical segment will accommodate the dedicated Postgraduate Research area as well as Library staff. It will incorporate the design principles exploiting the natural ventilation and lighting opportunities. There won’t be any building right out to the boundaries; 4m is the closest it will be in any part. The walls of the Library will be made of matt glass.
