Applications to provide weather updates, clocks, calculators, personalized news, and much more are available. Gadgets can be organized in a sidebar or can be undocked and placed anywhere on your desktop. Google Desktop Gadgets were introduced with Google Desktop 4 Beta which was released on May 10, 2006. Google Desktop is a free application from Google, and also includes advanced search and indexing tools for your computer.
