I’m sorry to hear of your husband’s misfortune with his tattoo. Let me start by just telling you that BACTERIA are what cause infection. Bacteria live on EVERY SURFACE. It is difficult to say why the tattoo became infected this time. Unless EVERY product used on the tattoo is sterile (sterility and disinfection are different! Sterile means all spores are killed. Disinfection means that it is clean, but can still have some bacteria.) Anyway…unless every product used is sterile, they could all potentially be the culprit.
