Has anyone ever gotten pregnant using the Mirena IUD?

I have studied this in my pharmacy degree..there is 1/1000 chance that you COULD get pregnant…if your iud becomes loose it can cause pain and also sometimes thses things can get infected…which would cause bleeding, fever, sickness and pain…..it might not mean that you are pregnant as it still will be releasing the hormone progesterone. The copper IUD appears to interfere with fertilisation by keeping sperm away from the egg. The hormonal one may do this as well and also seems to prevent the lining of the uterus from thickening, which makes it difficult for a fertilised egg to become implanted there.

It can happen, I think the actual statistic is .1% according to Bayer (the makers of Mirena), but other studies have shown it to be as high as .7% There are many side effects of Mirena that they don’t seem to advertise including nausea and cramping, depression, headaches and others. Personally, I was only diagnosed with PPD (postpartum depression) AFTER I started Mirena.

What is your question?
