Has anyone got a good remedy for a constipated cat?

I have a constipated cats too. Our vet recommended the basic drugstore hairball remedy, Vaseline orally (what we actually use) and canned pumpkin. When our young cat died suddenly last June both of the older boys as part of their mourning process didn’t poop for 5 days. They both got about 2 tsp of plain Vaseline on their paws initially. They both got another tsp the next morning, that night Jamie was OK, Jerry needed another tsp that night and by morning he was fine. We kept up with the Vaseline every other day for another week just to be sure. Try the Vaseline, I hate of the thought of the poor cat being dis-impacted. A constipated cat is a miserable thing, an impacted cat has to be truly undignified.

About 2 months ago my 5 day old 5oz kitten was constipated and I had taken her to the vet to get an enema. They told me if it happened again to put in a few drops of mineral oil in her formula and that should take care of it. And it did! She did get constipated again and I went out and bought store brand tasteless mineral oil, which costs just a few dollars and a within about 10 hours she was all cleaned out. I would assume if it can work on my week old kitten without harm than it should work for your cat if you can get it in something he eats or drinks and use probably a bit more than that. Good luck.
