Has there ever been a true communist country?
No. And no. Look at it this way. Communism is an economic policy. It doesn’t state how the political officials come to power. The core problem is that people think Communism can’t coexist with freedom and democracy because the few “communist” nations are dictatorships, and that’s just untrue. The sole reason they are “communist” is because the future dictators claimed to be communist and “for the people”. No lower class citizen in his right mind would turn down communism, and they saw that. So they used the working class, the majority, to overthrow the government and once in power completely abandoned the lower class. Sure they threw them a bone here and there, but otherwise zilch. It’s like saying Black haired people are evil because every dictator is black haired (hypothetically).
