How are blank entries put into lookup arrays?
Lookup arrays are used to populate dropdown lists or radio groups. They may be hard-coded into the application. obtained from a database table, or from a language_array.inc file. Each array should contain the non-blank entries which are to be used in that dropdown list or radio group, but sometimes a blank entry is required to indicate that no choice has yet been made. This can be done automatically by the framework when the lookup array is loaded into the XML document by adding an entry with a null key and a suitable description as follows: • In a non-search screen the description will be ” “. • In a search screen the description will be “(undefined)”.
