How are database integrity errors introduced?
PeopleSoft data can be corrupted in many ways including; improper use of “correction mode,” running faulty interfaces or processes (SQRs, etc.) and performing ad hoc updates to the system data using SQL. Each of these can bypass PeopleCode and the Application Processor logic, which works to validate system data during normal use. Data validation errors can be found in all PeopleSoft systems. Some errors are probably never noticed and produce no adverse effect on the production system. However, other errors might produce nuisances like crashing a panel or slowing down your system. More critical errors may produce incorrect results in reports, interfaces and online panels without any indication that there is a problem.
