How are final grades calculated and what are the standard parameters?

Final grades are awarded to all enrolled students at the end of each semester. The grades are awarded as below: 7 – high distinction 6 – distinction 5 – credit 4 – pass S – Satisfactory (where approved for use) 3 – Fail 2 – Fail S2 – Fail Supplementary 1 – Low Fail K – Withdrawn – Failure U – Unsatisfactory (where approved for use) Other results may be shown as E – Exempt W – Withdrawn. There are standard result parameters for the above grades, but these may be changed at the discretion of the Faculty’s Executive Dean.
