Whenever the Sun emits a solar flare it also emits a plasma cloud. The plasma cloud reaches Earth within about four months time. The cloud then compresses the Earth’s magnetic field, increasing magnetic activity at the surface of the Earth. The Sun continually emits plasma through coronal mass ejections and in the solar wind. This phenomenon is amplified whenever large solar flares occur, and contributes to periodic warming of the planets throughout the solor system.
