How are modules marked?
Different modules are assessed in different ways, ranging from 100% course work to (very rarely) 100% examination. Most modules have a mixture of both, and overall, the balance of course work and examination during your degree is likely to be 50:50. Each semester finishes with exams in which you are tested on what you have learnt in the modules taken within that semester. Coursework handed-in during the semester is marked and returned before the examinations, with feedback to help you improve your mark the next time.
