How are small and medium enterprises addressed in the CPGs?

For procurements, SMEs are defined as an Australian and New Zealand firm with fewer than 200 full time equivalent employees. The CPGs ensure that Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) are able to participate fairly and without discrimination when competing for government business. Agencies are to ensure that their procurement methods do not deliberately exclude SMEs from participating. FMA agencies are required to source at least 10 per cent of their purchases by value from SMEs. Agencies must consider the benefits of doing business with Australian and New Zealand SMEs when evaluating against the procurement requirements and value for money. They must also consider the commitments to regional markets that SMEs have in their local region.
