How are temporary and contract workers included in the FTE calculations?
Agencies and institutions of higher education collect total hours paid during the quarter for those positions that have been filled by temporary or contract workers for more than half of the workdays of the year preceding the final day of the quarter. This is reported separately, but will be added to the number of hours paid for state employees in calculating the total FTEs for an agency or university.
