How are the mergers going to affect the learning environment for my children?
A. With active transition planning, students will be familiar with their new school and the staff who work there. They will see familiar faces as the teachers from the merging school move with the students to the receiving school. Classrooms will be set up to maximize student learning time and ensure a healthy feeling of belonging and unification. Teachers will have the benefit of collaborating with a team of professionals teaching the same standards, which has been demonstrated to improve teaching. Furthermore, we anticipate fewer classroom combinations and more flexibility in student placements, which means greater capacity to match student learning styles with teachers.
