How Are the Pellets Inserted?
During a quick office visit, the Pellets are inserted quickly and easily. First, the skin is numbed with a local anesthetic to make sure the procedure is painless. A small incision is then made in the skin and the pellets are inserted below the skin into the fatty tissue. Finally, steri-strips and a Band-Aid are applied. The entire procedure may last 10 to 15 minutes and one resumes normal activities immediately. Blood tests are used to help adjust the dose of the pellets so you get the correct amount of hormones.
