How are the utilities handled?

At lease signing time, tenant names are assigned to the utilities. If you are a single tenant, your name is assigned to all services. If you are signing with a group of 2 or more (most college apartments are) then the group decides who is assigned each utility. At move in time, the change of service takes effect for electric, gas and water (if you are required to pay water) It is the tenants responsibility to order phone and cable service.
