How are these WordPress themes licensed?
WordPress is an open source project released under the GNU Public License (GPL). To properly comply with this license, our WordPress themes are “split licensed”. This means some parts of each theme are covered by the GPL license, while others are covered by our own content license. Here’s the breakdown: The GNU Public License (GPL) ONLY applies to these parts of each WordPress theme: • All PHP Files (.php) The standard ArixMedia Content License applies to EVERYTHING ELSE, INCLUDING: • All Photoshop Source Files (.psd) • All Layout Images (.jpg, .gif, .png) • All Stylesheets (.css) • All JS Files (.js) that do NOT have an alternate license declaration header So in short, the GPL only applies to the PHP files included with each theme. Everything else is subject to our standard ArixMedia Content License (unless otherwise noted). If you have a question about this split license arrangement, please contact us.
