A gap is a range of time during which we don’t know what happened and can’t interpolate. For a series of instantaneous events, a gap is the time before an event marked initial (a meter reset) occurs. For durational events, a gap is an interval of time not covered by any of the durational events. Our system assumes zero usage during a gap. If a gap is large enough that it spans a graphable interval (more than 15 minutes on the day view), the gap is rendered as a break in the line.
