How Big Is A Turnip?
A turnip is a type of root vegetable that is cultivated mainly on the continents of Europe and North America. The upper part of the skin of the turnip, which is white in colour, is between one centimetre and six centimetres. The part which protrudes above the ground is either purple or red or greenish in colour (wherever the sunlight has fallen.) The part of a turnip which is above the ground is a modified stem tissue which is fused with the root. The flesh inside the turnip is white in colour. The root is mostly spherical in shape, but the roots of some turnips are in the shape of a rough square-circle (also called a squircle). The diameter of this squircle approximately ranges between five centimetres and twenty centimetres and has no side roots.
