How can a student be exempt from taking end of course tests?
No student may be exempt from taking the end of course tests. End of course tests are mandated by the State of Georgia. The tests are administered at the end of the course, and the grade counts as a part of the student’s grade for the course. Passing EOCTs can assist students in obtaining a variance for the Georgia High School Graduation Test. (A variance may be obtained when a student has met the following requirements: 1. Student has passed all End of Course Tests (EOCTs) on the area of the GHSGT area failed 2. Student has missed no more than 10% of the days during the grading period (usually 9 days) 3. Student attends all 5 make-up administrations of the GHSGT 4.
