Animals are already adapted to their environment. Pets are adapted to human environment. Pets are not wild animals. An animal does not just change something, like fur thickness, all that quickly. It takes months for a deer to shed it’s winter coat for its summer coat. More than likely your dog is responding to a change in diet.
