How can getting his tonsils & adenoids out help my childs bedwetting?
The tonsils and adenoids are located at the back of the throat, and when they get enlarged they can disrupt sleep by blocking the breathing passage and reducing the amount of oxygen the brain gets. This can cause the bladder nerves to be overactive, which leads to bedwetting. There is a small percentage of children who, when they got their tonsils and adenoids out due to recurring ear, nose and throat infections, showed improved and/or cured bedwetting after the surgery.
