The election of President Obama has done a lot for this country in terms of understanding that the embracement of diversity can reinvigorate and energize a community. I think in health care it’s no different. We need to have diversity in order to better interpret the needs of our customers. Our customers are becoming more diverse and we need to be thinking outside of our historical boxes about how to best meet their needs and to really be able to go after and address issues like disparities with different types of messaging and programs. We need to embrace diversity, not only at the leadership level, but all throughout the health care industry. We really need to begin to think about how to do things differently. What advice would you give to racially and ethnically diverse individuals seeking to enter health care administration?
