How can I be an extra on TV?

I wouldn’t bother contacting the production offices. They’re far too busy, and won’t take people who walk in off the streets. Most TV shows will go to specific extras agencies to hire extras. Also ask yourself if you like early mornings (6am/7am call times), and long days of sitting around until you’re needed on set. You need to be punctual, and professional. Even as an extra, you can hold up a shoot and waste a lot of money if you are not there on time, or decide just to not turn up. And an agent will drop you like a hot potato. In the UK, some extras agencies are: Mad Dog, Guys&Dolls, 20/20 Casting, and Ray Knight. But note that their books may not be currently open…
