To volunteer as a puppy raiser or breeding stock host family, you must complete an application and submit it. If you are accepted, it usually takes between 6 months to a year before you will receive a puppy. Leader Dog moms and dads are placed in homes based on the continuing needs of the program; it is difficult to estimate the waiting period.
