How can I disarm the alarm on a 1997 chrysler sebring?

I bought my 1997 Sebring LXi off my stepdad November of 2011 and never knew it had a factory alarm on it until tonight. My daughters were with me and my eldest got out at the same time as me. I am in the habit of using the powerlocks as I am getting out since I have no keyless entry nor a button to disarm it. My youngest daughter got locked inside after doors were closed. She unlocked it from the inside using the knob latch instead of the power button. She opened the door and the alarm went off. I was surprised bc my stepdad nor my brother who actually put a new engine in it and never said anything about it. Anuway, I went to go to turn it off but realized I had no button to disarm it. I decided I would try to start it to get it to stop but did not make it that far. I unlocked the driver door and it stopped alarming. The alarm originated from opening the door from the passenger door on the inside. Very quirky.

Does anyone know how to disable the alarm on a chrysler sebring its a 1997 convertible coupe. I dont have the remote, its the factory alarm. A: Use the key in either front door lock cylinder to unlock it. They should both have a disarm switch that will turn it off when the cylinder is turned. However, sometimes one switch doesn’t work, so if that happens, just try the other door.
