How can I fix my electronic brother embroidery machine it is a 2003D Ultima?

When your fabric is hooped and attached to the embroidery arm the machine won’t start the embroidery design because it says the hoop is not attached. It is attached but, it doesn’t recognize that it is attached. So the embroidery can’t begin. I need help quick! If possible please help.
