How can I get a library card?
• Park Ridge Library Borrowing Policy • Park Ridge Residents Park Ridge residents may receive a Park Ridge Library card free of charge at the Circulation Department. For your convenience, you may complete the Library Card Application prior to coming to the library. • A parent’s signature is required for children under the age of 12 years. • Any delinquencies must be cleared before a card will be issued. • Non-Park Ridge Residents In accordance with Illinois state law, the Park Ridge Public Library will lend materials to any patron with a valid library card from a North Suburban Library System library. (Libraries indicated with an asterisk use our computer operating system.) Since some libraries use a different computer operating system, you are strongly encouraged to bring your library card with you, as we may be unable to look up your account.
Current students, faculty, and staff of Northern Seminary automatically receive a free library card. Click here for a link to the library card application form. Students from the other ACTS schools in the Chicago area must bring a valid ACTS Borrower ID from their library in order to receive a free Northern library card. Students from the other I-Share libraries in Illinois may use their own library cards and do not need a Northern library card. Residents in the communities around Lombard may purchase a library card for $15 for three months or $50 for one year. Pastors of American Baptist Churches in the Chicago area may receive a library card for free.
If you reside, work, own property, or go to school in the Benton County Library District, you may get a free library card upon showing verification of your address. Children, fifth grade and under, need to have a parent or guardian’s signature. Library cards are issued at the circulation desk of any Corvallis Benton County Public Library. Others may purchase a card for $75.
Every person who is a resident of the area served by the Sachem Public Library is eligible to have a library card issued by the Library. You must come to the Library in order to complete your library card application and receive your new card. To verify that you are a resident of the Sachem Library District, please be prepared to show ONE of the following: • Valid driver’s license • Non-driver photo ID • Valid auto insurance card • Utility bill (within 60 days) • Major credit card bill • Bank statement • Pay stub with address • Lease • Tax bill Proof of residency must be CURRENT, UNEXPIRED and must SHOW STREET ADDRESS. *If you are eligible to have a Sachem Public Library card, you can start the process by filling in this library card application form. You will have to come to the Library with the proofs mentioned above in order to receive your card.
