How can I get an un-biased opinion on evolution and the age of the earth?
There has certainly been politicizing some branches of science where shear speculation is passed off as decided science. That isn’t the case with evolutionary theory or the studies that found the age of the galaxy or the age of the Earth. They are genuine science and the evidence is literally rock solid. The Earth is very close to 4.6 billion years old. The universe is about 13.7 billion years old. They can tell the age of the Earth by measuring the isotope concentration of uranium to lead and other isotopic analysis in crystals. They can see that the oldest zircon crystals are over 4 billion years old and the oldest rock, last time I checked was something like 3.8 billion years old. The reason they know the age of the Earth is that they can measure the age of meteors so that very strongly supports the approximate age of 4.6. One test they use is potassium argon.
