How can I get Chef coats bright white without using bleach or taking them to the drycleaners?

I’ve worked as a chef for many years. Here is what I do: Step 1) Fill up a spray bottle with warm water. Pre-treat the stains with the water. Step 2) Use “Shout Ultra Gel” on the stains. Let it sit 5 min. Step 3) Look at the garment label to see what is the hottest water you can wash with. Fill your machine up and add OxiClean with your laundry detergent. Shut the machine off and let your chef coats soak overnight. The next morning, wash as normal. Keep repeating these steps until your chef coats are stain free. DO NOT dry them until the stains are gone. The dryer will bake the stains in. You can pre-treat the stains with the Shout 1 week in advance. That way, you can wash all your coats in one load. Also, I found that the more chef coats I have, the whiter they will stay. Buy a couple every month. I pay about $20/each for mine. (FYI: The OxiClean gives the coats a brilliant, white sheen. I’ve stopped using bleach, as it tends to “gray” the coats over time.
