I just use the free vmware server so that I can have the 3 versions on separate VM’s. That way the test environment is more like the end user environment (only one IE version installed). Re: IE8. I have a client with almost 100 windows workstations on their network. It’s a large auto/truck dealer. If they upgrade to IE8 they can’t function. They have to use web-based interfaces provided by the vehicle manufacturer and several other vendors. Leasing, finance and insurance is one example of other vendors. I have heard the IE8 also “breaks things” in various other industries. I would say that means IE8 has “show stopper” bugs in which case it doesn’t really matter if it is “full of bugs”. It’s not usable at all for my auto dealer client. They wouldn’t even be able to order vehicles and parts.
