The first thing to do is to get setup with a charity and then find sponsors who want to help move things forward. Yes, you need a permit and a lot of other things. The easiest way for me to help you is to direct you to some industry websites. Visit www.hauntworld.com and www.hauntcon.com. There are a lot of resources available to you through these sites including message boards where you can chat with other members of the haunted attraction industry. There are also a number of books and DVDs that you can obtain information from. If you’re in the Ohio or Wisconsin area I would also recommend that you go to Midwest Haunter’s Convention and/or Hauntcon next year. As to how much you should charge for entry that should be based off of the length of the haunt. If you’re the only haunt in town you don’t have to make it extra huge to make money but make sure that people get their money’s worth. No haunt experience should be shorter than 15 minutes. Most charity haunts charge between $8 and $12
