How can I paint on fondant w/o mixing food coloring in vodka?
Are you talking about using powdered food coloring? I’m assuming so, that’s what you would mix with vodka. The idea behind that is that the vodka evaporates right away, so it won’t drip or smear like it would with water. If you wanted to use water, you would have to make it more like a paste, so that it wouldn’t drip, but then it would be harder to paint with. Hit up your local craft store or cake decorating store, they will have food colorings that are meant to be used for painting that won’t run. You could also get food pens, they might be easier for some of the detail work that you really wouldn’t want to run, and then you could use a different method such as the food coloring and water to fill in the rest.
