1) Download the 16 Channel Multitrack Template, save it in your Cakewalk folder or the folder you specified in Tools | Global Options | Folders | Templates. 2) Click File | New and select “16 Channel Multitrack-New”, then click OK. 3) Arm the tracks appropriate for your sequence. 4) Choose Tools | Project Options | Clock and select MIDI Sync. This tells Cakewalk to use the external sequencer as a clock source, instead of using Cakewalk’s internal clock. 5) Press record in Cakewalk. The “Waiting for MIDI Sync” message will display. Make sure your keyboard’s sequencer is set to transmit MIDI sync, then begin playing the external sequencer. Cakewalk will then begin recording.
