How can I request the Council to introduce a traffic management scheme?
Traffic Management Schemes are introduced to resolve a wide range of different issues relating to the movement of traffic on the highway. Submitted requests can be emailed to the Hackney Service Centre on info@hackney.gov.uk or can be posted to the address below. Requests are prioritised based on what is found on the site and the severity of the problems investigated. Speeding traffic – If this compromises safety or results in a high level of traffic accidents, depending on the circumstances, we may consider measures. These include traffic calming, road humps, safety cameras and other measures. Through Traffic – If this compromises safety or results in a high level of traffic accidents similar measures to those above can be considered. If the impact of traffic is more environmental or affects the quality of life of residents in a lower status road a road closure may be considered.
