How can I show Twitter location feeds on Navit?
This feature is a demo of integrating location-based services in the navigation application. This navit plugin allows you to show your friend’s current location, provided by their Twitter feeds online. To run the demo, you’ll need to have an internet connection and a Twitter account. First, install the twitter-glib libraries: As root, run “yum install twitter-glib” To set up your Twitter account, as a regular user do this: gconftool-2 -t string -s /apps/mojito/services/twitter/user @yourusername@ Run this command to printyour username: gconftool-2 -g /apps/mojito/services/twitter/user Then in Navit, click on Map in the menu, and select “WebTrack”. Navit opens up a dialog and, on the left column, it should show the list of Twitter feeds your account is following. Click the Map button to try to map the Twitter feeds posted to a location on your map. As a demo, we created a Twitter account called “TacoWagon35”. If you subscribe to that feed, you should see TacoWagon show up near Hillsboro
