The basic problem in India is that people are unaware. A poor laborer feels that if he has more babies, he’ll have more helping hands and more family income. He fails to realize that, this way he’ll have to feed more people. Many people have more babies in aspiration of a boy child. Of course avoiding birth control is a general factor. Awareness and counselling is the way in India. The government has organised many campaigns in this regard like “Hum do, hamare do” whose meaning is that of one family, two children and is intended to reinforce the message of population control China: The Chinese government has used several methods to control population growth.
