One of the benefits of replacing malleable lead liners with molded poly-tungsten is that the housing component can often be eliminated. Rather than lining a machined metal housing with lead, RPT’s design specialists can replace both housing and liner with a rigid molded part that offers both the necessary radiation shielding and structural properties. RPT has also successfully insert-molded and over-molded components within the poly-tungsten part to reduce the total number of components required.
